Write

Add who they were

Add who they were teaches appositives: a phrase between commas that says who or what someone is, practised in sentences about the lesson.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Show the model with its appositive underlined.
  2. Pupils fill each gap.
  3. They write one of their own.

Why it works

Appositives pack knowledge into a sentence, so writing them is retrieval and writing practice at once.
