Make sense of it

Draw it

Draw it asks pupils to draw and label an idea from what they have learnt, not by copying a picture, with a short list of what the drawing must show.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Say what the drawing must show and label.
  2. Pupils draw from memory, then check against their notes.
  3. Compare two drawings and talk about what each shows well.

Why it works

Drawing makes pupils turn words into a picture of the idea, which shows gaps and helps it stick.
