Fishbone

A fishbone sorts the causes of one outcome into kinds, along the bones of a fish whose head is the outcome.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Name the outcome at the head, then the kinds of cause on the bones.
  2. Pupils add causes to the right bone from a source or a text.
  3. Ask which bone mattered most, and why.

Why it works

Sorting causes by kind is the step before weighing them. The fishbone is Kaoru Ishikawa's.
