Hinge question

A hinge question is one multiple-choice question before practice, where each wrong answer matches a common misconception, so the teacher sees at a glance who is ready.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Everyone answers at once, with fingers or on a whiteboard.
  2. Look at the spread of answers.
  3. Move on, or reteach the misconception the wrong answers show.

Why it works

Every pupil answers, and each wrong option tells the teacher which idea to fix, in seconds.
