Label the diagram

Label the diagram shows a clear drawing with its parts numbered, and pupils write the name of each part from memory.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

Opens in Studio, where you can change it and export it.

Free, with no sign-in. It uploads to Google Slides too.

How to run it

  1. Pupils label what they can with no notes.
  2. They use the word box for any they are stuck on.
  3. Reveal the labels and ask what each part does.

Why it works

Recalling a name while looking at the part ties the word to the thing, and a blank number shows straight away what has not stuck. The evidence is for recalling from memory in general: labelling has not been tested on its own.
