Match up
A match-up puts the lesson's terms, each with a picture, beside their meanings in a different order, and pupils match each term to its meaning from memory.
The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.
How to run it
- Pupils match what they can without notes.
- They check with a partner and fill any gaps.
- Reveal the letters and go over the ones most missed.
Why it works
Recalling a meaning from memory strengthens it more than reading it again, and the pictures give a second way in.
