Mind map

A mind map puts a big idea in the middle and what pupils know on branches around it, grouped by kind.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Pupils add to each branch from memory.
  2. Show the answers.
  3. Ask which branch was hardest to fill.

Why it works

Grouping what pupils know under headings is retrieval and organising at once, and shows the gaps.
