Task board

A task board breaks the next task into three to five steps, each with a symbol and a box to tick, for pupils who need a task broken down.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Point to each step as you say it.
  2. Pupils tick each step as they finish it.
  3. Check the board together at the end.

Why it works

Breaking a task into steps with pictures lowers the load on working memory, which helps pupils with SEND and young children most.
