Talk it through

Think, pair, share

Think, pair, share gives pupils time to think about a question on their own, then to agree their best answer with a partner, then to share it with the class.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Ask the question and give silent thinking time.
  2. Pairs agree on their best answer and why.
  3. Take answers from pairs chosen at random, not only hands up.

Why it works

Thinking time and a partner to talk to mean every pupil has an answer ready, not only the quickest.
