Remember

What's the story?

What's the story? shows the steps of a process or the events of a story in order, each with a picture and a line, and pupils write what happens at each step from memory.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Pupils write a line for each step without notes.
  2. They check the order and fill gaps with a partner.
  3. They write a summary that joins the steps.

Why it works

Recalling a sequence step by step, with a picture as a cue, strengthens memory of both the steps and their order.
