this layer, as well as monkeys,
butterflies, other insects.
The canopy is thick and full. It is
made up of the tops of trees
which are all crowded
together. It blocks sunlight and
rain from the lower levels.
Sloths, monkeys, orang-utans, many other insects,
reptiles, live in the canopy.
The under storey is damp,
dark. small trees and
plants. Vines, mosses,
algae grow on the tree trunks.
Reptiles, amphibians live in
the under storey, lots
of insects. Some animals live in
the trunks themselves.
