Faded examples

Faded examples give three problems of the same kind: the first worked in full, the second with its last step left out, the third left to pupils.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Talk through the first.
  2. Pupils finish the second.
  3. Pupils do the third alone, then check.

Why it works

Taking support away one step at a time moves pupils from studying to doing without a jump they cannot make.
